TEDxMcGill 2027
This year’s theme, Through the Looking Glass, explores the idea that we never experience the world completely unfiltered. Our identities, experiences, cultures, disciplines, technologies, beliefs, and biases shape how we see. These lenses influence what we notice, what we overlook, and how we interpret what is in front of us. The same event, idea, person, or problem can look radically different depending on who is looking, and from where. A lens can bring something into focus, magnify what was previously invisible, or distort what we thought we understood. But lenses are not fixed. We can zoom in or out, change the angle, shift perspective, and sometimes realize the lens we have been using was incomplete all along.
This year, TED×McGill invites you to explore how perspective shapes reality across psychology, culture, technology, medicine, media, art, history, language, design, and beyond. How does the way we see the world shape the world we experience? And what can change when we learn to look differently?
